Enlighten Asia 2021 in Japan
Lighting for New Normal
“Enlighten Asia 2021 in Japan” was held online for two days from Wednesday, November 10th to Thursday, November 11th, 2021. This was the first time that the event was held independently from the previous lighting fairs co-hosted by Japan Lighting Manufacturers Association (JLMA) and Nikkei Inc.. We explored new ways of organizing events for the new era, making the most of the advantages unique to this online event. Under the theme of “Lighting for New Normal,” this year’s event featured sessions with IALD members and experts in various fields, as well as proposals from students from six cities around the world, and discussions on the search for a new normal in lighting. The closing session titled “Hello Asia” on the final day, connected 11 Asian cities and introduced the current state of each city in a relay format. The finale was a video letter from Ashley Robbins from the IALD headquarters, who gave the final closing speech.
