Event/Workshop Report

Lighting manufacturer development team members gave a ten-minute presentations on each lighting fixture that was chosen by the IALD Japan selection committee, and then lighting designers provided frank opinions and asked questions in a 60-minute time frame, clarifying the features of the products.

 

The event was held by the IALD Japan, in cooperation with the Japan Federation of Interior Planner’s Association (JIPA) , the Japan Interior Planner Association, Tokyo (JIPAT ), Japan Commercial Environmental Design Association (JCD ), and Tokyo Design Center. “New lighting fixturesapparatuses in the IoT era ” were introduced at this first event, in order to excite the interest of non-members. The flow of information about lighting apparatusesfixtures used to be one way: from manufacturers to users. However, constructive feedback can be given through events like this in the future. Such events are expected to become opportunities for lighting designers to request the development of desirable lighting apparatusesfixtures.

 

Participating members actively communicated with each other. Even though there were few young members, the venue was filled with excitement and many questions.
