This privacy policy shows guidelines that Japan International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD Japan) (https://ialdjapan.jp) (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) complies with when handling personal information on visitors of the Association's official website (hereinafter referred to as "visitors") who have access to the services including providing information and inquiries, or any information equivalent to it.

The Association shall take systematically, physically, humanly, and technically appropriate measures necessary to protect the safety of personal information which the Association handles from leakage, loss or damage.

The association shall comply with rules described below for obtaining, using, and providing personal information: (1) Obtaining personal information
Within the scope necessary of operating internet information providing site by the Association (hereinafter referred to as "this site"), the Association may obtain personal information on general users of this site (hereinafter referred to as "users").

(2) Purpose for using personal information
The Association shall not use obtained personal information beyond the scope necessary for achieving the purpose of use specified below unless such use is specified in laws and regulations or the Association obtains the person's consent to do so.

① Operation, maintenance, and management of this site
② Providing and introducing information through this site
③ Conducting a survey for quality improvement of this site

(3) Providing personal information
The Association shall not provide personal information obtained based on the person's consent to any third party without the person's prior consent unless it is required by laws or regulations. Disclosure, amendment, addition or omission of personal information, or notice of its purpose of use demanded by the person shall be dealt with appropriately in compliance with the laws and regulations, and proposals and/or consultations are properly handled by the Association.

The Association does not change in principle the purpose of use specified above without the person's prior consent, provided that any change in the purpose of use is in advance disclosed before the actual change is made within the scope that can be reasonably considered to be in relation to the purpose of use before such changes.

In case that the Association commissions all or part of handling personal information to a third party, the Association shall fully review the third party's qualifications necessary to safely manage such personal information and supervise the person who is commissioned appropriately and as needed.

The Association conducts inspections on and continues to improve and review handling, managing, and addressing personal information.

When the Association considers that personal information has lost its need in the light of the purpose of use, the Association shall delete or destroy such personal information. Such deleting or destroying shall be conducted with necessary and appropriate methods to prevent the personal information from leaking out, only if it is necessary to do so for the conduct of business.
